In Sophia’s absence, the team tries to discern what exactly happened to set her off. Nixie reminds everyone that Celestial Neosapes are prone to losing control at one point or another. There is collective anxiety of what they’ll do when the time comes for them. Eventually, Sophia returns to the bookstore, safe but extremely on edge. She has no excuse for what she did – beyond all of the bullshit of being cursed by faes and running out of trails while searching for the man who assaulted her months ago.
Nero Drago, she explains, has been terrorizing Thunder City for at least three years now. He is supernatural in some regard, and responsible for the deaths of Julie Akagi and the unnamed Boneyard Boy. He is dangerous and evil in the deepest sense of the word. He may have been involved in Boneyard’s train spiral. He had worked with three separate gangs – the El Diablos, the Vipers, the Black Mambas – seemingly, only to betray their trust and inflict misery on them.
Concerns come up if Sophia – or anyone else – was targeted, or trailed, or if his targets were picked at random, or if anyone else in the group is at risk of being targeted in the future. Unfortunately, all the leads on him have run dry and there are more immediately pressing matters at hand:
The Boneyard kid who died at their hands weeks and weeks ago, the Razorwire Catamite, is due to return, thanks to the ‘God of Shit and Blood.’ Supervision is suggested. Carmen offers her freshly learned sorcery capabilities to summon some beings to help watch over the place; in the meanwhile, since the girls Sophia had watching it don’t remember her, that responsibility falls to the rest of the team.
